About

Hello and thanks for visiting itsdevelopmental. This page is where you will find out a bit more about me – Martin Couzins – and what itsdevelopmental is all about.

I am passionate about content and about people and how technology is powering new ways of doing things. That’s what my blog is all about and that is what I am all about too. I have likened myself to part town crier, part sherpa and I think this still stands. I like promoting useful things to people and pointing them to what they need. Essentially that is what content is all about.

The professional bit first . . .

I am a freelance content strategist. That means I work with businesses to develop their content offering – that could be articles on a web site, video, an event – so that users/customers/potential customers are provided with the right kind of content in the right place and at the right time.

I also develop and deliver training events. I co-created a knowledge sharing event at Reed Business Information called Elevenses and facilitate and deliver training. And at XpertHR I developed an internal comms process around my role using an internal blog as well as events to train the team and share knowledge.

I have 17 years’ experience of publishing and have been a writer, editor, sub-editor, operational manager. I enjoy managing teams and doing innovative things (link to come)

I have delivered a social media strategy. That means I have set up Twitter profiles, blogs and Youtube channels. I like using social media tools such as Twitter.

Itsdevelopmental started out as my blog and is now also a shop window for the services I offer.

Other bits about me . . .

I hope this list gives you a more rounded sense of me.

  • I played Mary in the nativity play at my all boys primary school
  • I was part of a successful world record breaking Conga
  • I DJ as DJ Choppi Cee (well used to do more of that ‘back in the day’)
  • My Myers Briggs type indicator is ENFJ
  • My favourite song is Optimistic by the Sounds of Blackness
  • I am related to Joseph Tabrar who wrote Daddy wouldn’t buy me a bow wow
  • I have a wonderful wife and three wonderful children
