Twitter is turning to curation to help make it more accessible and useful (making sense of 500 million tweets a day isn’t easy!) and Apple has announced that its forthcoming News app will be using human editors to curate content too. Added to this, content aggregator Upworthy is shifting away from aggregation to original content generation and Flipboard – which enables you to create your own curated magazine – has added new ways to add context and content magazines.
Curation is an odd word which is misunderstood but all these developments show that the direction of travel on the web is to create tools that enable you to suck in content and then repackage it and present back to the web. Here is a list of articles that covers recent developments.
