Sounds like an obvious point but anyone who has a business, a site, a blog sits on data. And this data helps tell a story. I was struck by the number of different stories in Facebook’s 2011 stats.

When Facebook shares its data people get very interested, obviously. But anyone communicating with customers, potential customers and peers should be thinking in the same way. What data do we have that people in our market will find useful?

We all sit on data. We might not think we do, but we do. Time to start thinking about how we can make more of it . . .
